Recent Cards...

So recently I've been making cards for birthdays, anniversaries, New baby, sympathy and even for a housewarming!

Above are two cards I made for birthdays this month- both for men. It's often difficult to find a "manly" card to make, but I felt that this was a great use of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! I totally stole the idea for these from Pinterest and had to get a little creative with things as I really don't have a good set of nesting round dies that go together. I had to hand-cut the brown accent on the circle and as you can see, it's a little uneven. The leaves on the second card are hand stamped and hand cut.
These layouts required a little pre-planning for overlap and angles, but I'm very happy with how they came out! To make your own similar card, refer to the Ideas tab on my website and with the picture is a list of items used to make the card.
As well, I recommend use of a ruler and paper cutter to plan your angles and cut your lines straight.

If you're interested in getting your paws on any of these materials, please feel free to look for them at Stampinup.com and order with me as your Independent demonstrator!

Until later,

Happy Crafting!
