Stamp & Scrapbook Expo- Orlando, FL.

So today my husband and I made our annual trip to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Orlando!

I always go with just a short list of things I haven't been able to find locally at either a satisfactory price point, or at all. I prefer to support small businesses if I can. The problem is that here in Tampa, there aren't many local, non-big box craft stores. We have a Joann's and a Michaels. A good 40 minute drive away, we have one local scrapbook store and then we have to drive about an hour to get to the next closest small scrapbook store. We occasionally make the long trips, but thats a once every 3-6 months trip due to our busy schedule.

Anyways, we went to the Expo and I managed to find all but 2 items on my small list.

My List:

  1. Tombow brush marker in green
  2. glue dots (of a different variety than the two available in the big box stores)
  3. wink of stella translucent glitter pen
  4. magnetic platform for Sizzix
  5. vinyl in coral color w/ transfer tape
  6. spiral bound punch

I was able to find all but numbers 4 and 7. Which I knew might be tricky.

Along the way we also managed to pick up about 3 other small items in the under $5 range. I am happy with what I found.

And so I'm off to play with my new things! Each item had a use for which it was specifically purchased and I'm gonna go use them while the hubby takes a nap!

Happy Crafting!

Blogging!

Hi all!

My name is Elizabeth Moody and I'm a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator. I make mostly cards and paper-crafty stuff. I find that I really enjoy the creative side of paper-crafting and really love seeing a smile on someone's face when they get a card designed especially for them!

Most of what I make are one-off cards. I feel that what makes my card different from a store-bought, mass-market card is it's uniqueness. I find that people enjoy getting a card that was made with them in mind.  That being said, I thoroughly admit to the liberal use of pinterest for card ideas! Why re-invent the wheel? I'm not the most original creator, I'm an excellent copy-cat!

Keep in mind that most paper-crafters take an idea and make it their own- and you can, too! You don't have to be an artist to do this type of crafting- goodness knows I can't draw a straight line with a ruler!

With each project I post, I will tell you exactly what I used to make it. Most of what I use will admittedly be Stampin' Up! products which you can order online on my website or at www.stampinup.com. If you order it through my website, you will receive personal service from me. This means that I will be the person you can come to if something needs fixing or you need help with ordering. I have a lot of resources I can bring to bear and help you achieve the best paper-crafting experience. I can direct you to coordinating products, helpful tips and all the fun stuff that our product line can offer.

As I've been making cards for many years before I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I do have a small collection of other products which I will occasionally use- and I'll let you know if what I use is not an orderable product through Stampin' Up!.

I hope that you'll visit often, enjoy my posts and borrow my (often borrowed) creativity for yourself!

Until next time,

Happy Crafting!
